Regulatory Compliance for Industrial Operators and OT Vendors

Industrial cybersecurity regulation has moved from guidance to enforcement. Operators face mandatory incident reporting on short clocks, named management accountability and supervisory audit. Equipment makers face product requirements with conformity assessment attached. The obligations arrive from several directions at once, and most of them were written by people who have never had to patch a running plant.

Arista Cyber helps you establish what actually applies, close the gaps that matter, and hold evidence that survives scrutiny, with recommendations that account for operational and safety constraints rather than ignoring them.

Compliance Services

NIS2 Compliance

For North American operators with EU operations, and for vendors whose European customers pass supply chain obligations down contractually. Applicability scoping, Article 21 gap assessment, supplier evidence packs, incident reporting readiness and Article 20 governance evidence.

EU Cyber Resilience Act

For manufacturers placing products with digital elements on the EU market, by any route including through OEMs and distributors. Product scope and classification, Article 14 reporting readiness, and the roadmap to full application.

NERC CIP

For registered entities in the North American bulk electric system. Applicability determination, audit preparation, and readiness for internal network security monitoring under the CIP-015 requirements.

NCA OTCC

For operators in Saudi Arabia subject to the National Cybersecurity Authority OT cybersecurity controls. Gap assessment, remediation and evidence preparation.

How compliance work differs in OT

Every framework above assumes controls that behave differently on industrial equipment. Patching assumes you can take a system down. Vulnerability scanning assumes you can probe a device without risk. Multi-factor authentication assumes an operator has a spare hand at a panel. Evidence collection assumes systems that log.

Our assessments start from what is achievable on a running plant and work toward the requirement, rather than issuing findings that cannot be actioned. Where a control genuinely cannot be implemented, we document the compensating measure and the reasoning, which is what a supervisory authority will actually ask for.

Where to start

Most engagements begin with scoping, because establishing precisely what applies usually narrows the work and occasionally removes it. From there, an OT risk assessment or a framework-specific gap assessment gives you the evidence base for everything that follows.

Downloadable guides and checklists for several of these frameworks are in our Regulatory Playbooks under Resources. Our wider OT cybersecurity services cover the technical work that compliance programs depend on.
